North Conway, NH is the best known area of the Mt. Washington Valley--and with good reason. Name brand outlet shops, lodgings, restaurants, and attractions line Main Street. While many visitors find so much to see and do right here that they rarely venture further, those that do discover scenic drives, routes to bike and hike, swimming spots, streams to fish, covered bridges, farmer's markets, Echo Lake State Park, and the White Mountain National Forest. All are worth the few minutes' trip from North Conway, NH.
Other towns well worth exploring: Albany New Hampshire, just south of Conway New Hampshire, is primarily a residential area; while Fryeburg, Maine, just across the border, is the home to a variety of inns and restaurants, and Maine's largest agricultural fair.

When you enter the North Conway village from the south, Mount Washington appears right in front of you with the quaint shops on either side of you. This historic stretch of Route 16 hosts North Conway village which is lined with great shops like Zeb's General Store, A.J. Moss, The Penguin and the old Five and Dime as well as great eateries like The Met Coffee House, Horsefeather's and Maestro's Cafe. Being that North Conway village is an attraction in it's self, there's plenty to do. Grab our free local newspaper, The Conway Daily Sun and after shopping the local shops you can rest your weary bones on one of SchoulerPark's benches under a fabulous maple tree. Across from the park is our very own Conway Scenic Railroad. Millions of people have taken site seeing tours on the railroad. It's a sure pleaser for the whole family. Built in 1874, the railroad station reflects the turn of the century, small town feel that North Conway village is known for.
If you're feeling energetic, right in the village you'll find the North Conway Country Club, a championship 18 hole golf course with absolutely breath taking views on every hole. If you really want to have some fun, you have to check out the Saco River. Just around the corner from the North Conway village, in walking distance, you can take a dip in the crystal clear river water or even canoe down the river. The Saco is a great way to cool off on a hot summer day. There's so much to do in the North Conway, no matter what age you are or what season it is, there's always something going on.
